ONLINE VOCAL LESSONS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 23-30
Because we are currently not meeting face to face, it is important that you pay close attention to what it is that you are supposed to do throughout the lesson. Keep in mind that with all of the down time that you are experiencing now, there is no reason for you not to practice these warm-ups and your spring show songs DAILY.
I am supplying enough warm-ups/warm-down exercises as well as breathing exercises and your song(s) for you to keep somewhat busy. It is super important that you are prepared once we do meet again face to face. We will need to make adjustments once that occurs, but your preparation is KEY to our success in making this happen:) Here we go:
1. Breathing exercises (choose one of the exercises below. You can do these each and every day to help with breath support, breath sustainment and overall singing technique.

BREATHING EXERCISES (BOTH FEMALE AND MALE)
2. Vocal Warm-Ups/Warm Downs: I am supplying 4 different warm-ups for both the ladies and the gents. These will be marked on the MP3 players below.
* It is important to understand that all of the exercises below are to be sung in CHEST VOICE. I will be supplying additional exercises for next week that involve the head voice. For this week, focus on staying in chest. Always take a deep breath from the diaphragm before each scale to insure not reaching from the throat. While doing the exercises, make sure that your mouth is fully open, as is the throat and the soft palate is raised and create as much space as possible while vocalizing. Additionally as you ascend up the scale, make sure your jaw stays parallel to the floor.

FEMALE VOCAL EXERCISES G TO C (CHEST VOICE EXERCISES)
On the vocal exercises below you can change up the vowels from day to day. For instance you can use the "Meh" vowel one day and switch to a "Man" vowel the next. Good vowels are Meh, Mah, Moh and Muh. Stay away from all other vowel sounds. You can also switch to the letter "M", which is more challenging overall.
