A. MIX-IT-UP CAMPS

1. Junior Mix-It-Up Camp
Ages: 5-8 (Beginner as well as experienced dancers are welcome!)
Dates: July 5th - July 9th

Description: This camp is full of variety with classes in Ballet, Acrobatics, Jazz & Creative Movement! We will finish the week with a short studio performance through zoom or in-person depending on current CDC guidelines.
Please bring a water bottle.
Girls should wear a leotard and tights with ballet shoes or socks. Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail, braid, or bun.
Boys should wear form fitting shirts and bike shorts with black ballet shoes or socks.
2. Beginner/Intermediate Mix-It-Up Camp
Ages: 9-14 (Beginners, as well as dancers with experience, are welcome.)

Description: This is a perfect camp for dancers wanting to try out and learn more about different dance styles. We’ll pack the week full of variety with Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Modern & Improvisation.
Note: We have dance shoes for sale, or students can dance in socks or bare feet depending on the style we are working on. Bring a loose fitting T-shirt, sweat pants, a water bottle and a healthy snack. Bring all dance shoes if available. Clean sneakers can be worn for Hip Hop.
Girls should wear a leotard and footless or convertible tights. Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail, braid, or bun.
Boys should wear form fitting shirts and bike shorts.
3. Intensive Skill Building
(Not for beginning students. Beginners should take one of our week-long camps.)
Ages: Students going into 5th – 12th grades who have training in Ballet & Either Jazz or Modern

Description: As dancers, it is important to work on strength training and flexibility outside of class. There just isn’t enough time during class to perfect techniques, learn new skills, work on choreography, AND have time for ample strength and flexibility training. This class will focus on giving dancers a variety of exercises that they can incorporate into their regular routines outside of class. We will also talk about ways to incorporate exercises while doing things like brushing teeth, waiting in line at a store, watching TV, and other everyday activities.
2. Turns & Tricks (This class may be divided into 2 groups according to skill level)
Ages: Entering 5th – 12th grade in the fall.
Dates: July 5th - August 4th
Day & Time: Mondays & Wednesdays 1:10-2:40pm

Requirements: Students should have at least 2 years previous training in Ballet & Jazz (or Modern) and are encouraged to enroll in the preceding Stretch & Strengthen class. If attending the Stretch & Strengthening class is not possible, then students are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes early to warm up on their own.
Description: A variety of different turns, leaps, kicks, and other “tricks” will be Studied and incorporated into practice combinations.
3. Improvisation (All Levels)
Ages: Going into 5th – 12th Grade in the fall

Requirements: Students should have previous training in at least 1 style of dance.
Description: If you have never tried improvisation before don’t be scared! It is SO much fun & we will start slow, giving you plenty of guidance and tools to help you create. Dancers will learn a new way to communicate through movement without the use of words or obvious signals. This is a skill that will help them in all aspects of dance as well as real life problem solving! Students may be divided into groups depending on enrollment and experience.
4. Choreography
Ages: Going into 7th – 12th Grade in the fall
Dates: July 7th - August 4th
Day & Time: Wednesdays 2:45 - 4:15pm (Additional studio time will be available upon request!)

Requirements: Students should have a minimum of 3 years consecutive training in at least 2 styles of dance. Students must also be disciplined to work on choreography outside of class.
Description: Students will learn about different aspects of choreography including levels, dynamics, tempo, moods, use of space, finding inspiration, and considerations when working with groups vs. soloists. Different assignments will be given to challenge creativity. Some projects will be worked on during class, but students should also expect to be completing choreography at home.
C. BALLET, PRE- POINTE, POINTE

Description: This class is designed for our youngest dancers! They will learn proper classroom etiquette, as well as beginning ballet terms and techniques. They will also build their creative skills with guided improvisation exercises. Spatial awareness, listening skills, problem solving and coordination are just a few benefits of taking this class!
Note: Parents are welcome to observe every class through zoom. On the last day, Parents may be invited for in person observation depending on CDC orders for Covid. We will update this by the first day of class.
2. Ballet (This class is appropriate for all levels)

Description: This is an open level class which will benefit dancers at different skill levels. We will focus on technique through Barre, Adagio, Allegro and Choreography.

Description: Summer Ballet gives students an opportunity to stay in shape while retaining and improving their love of dance, as well as their knowledge, technical skill, strength and flexibility. Barre, Center, Adagio, Allegro & Choreography will be taught.
4. Pre-Pointe
Ages: Entering 5th – 12th grade in the fall
Dates: July 6th - August 5th
Days & Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:10-12:40

Requirements: Students must be enrolled in the 12:40-2:10 Summer Ballet Class and should have a minimum of one year of Ballet training. Taking this class does not guarantee that students will be ready for a pointe class in the fall regardless of their age.
Description (Pre-Pointe): Students will learn about dancing on pointe as they work on strengthening and proper techniques to prepare for pointe work. In most cases, students are not eligible to take pointe until they are in 7th grade, but 5th & 6th graders are encouraged to take this class to build strength and knowledge for when they are ready for pointe shoes. This is also a great class for any dancer who wants stronger feet, better arches, and better technique. Boys are welcome! PLEASE NOTE that taking this class does not guarantee a student will be able to enroll in a fall Pointe class, regardless of age. There are specific skill and strength levels needed for safety. Starting Pointe work before a student is ready can cause injuries that could be long lasting. Students wanting to enroll in a Fall Pointe class need teacher approval.
5. Pointe
Ages: Must CURRENTLY be enrolled in a Pointe class. This class is not for beginners.

Description: This is a mixed level pointe class designed for students who are currently taking Pointe. This class is highly recommended for students planning to continue with Pointe work in the fall. The goal is to retain strength and continue to improve Pointe work skills and technique.
D. Hip Hop & Tap (Enroll or use Drop-in Option!)

We are excited to offer private and semi-private voice classes during our summer months. We feel that this is a great way for students to stay vocally connected and maintain vocal strength and technique prior to returning in the fall. This option also offers students who are curious about private voice a chance to try it out to see if it’s the right fit for him/her. Check out the information below for further details!

1. Students who are currently taking private or semi-private voice and would like to continue during the summer months.
2. Students who are currently taking group voice class and are considering private or semi-private voice in the fall.
3. Individuals who are NOT currently enrolled in Forte Studios and are considering taking private or semi-private voice in the fall.
B. How many lessons do I sign up for? Students signing up for summer private voice will receive (9) 30-minute lessons in total, which accounts for one quarter during our normal season.
C. How do I schedule my lessons? Summer private voice will take place from July 1-31 and lessons can be set according to your individual schedule. Students should plan on (2) 30-minute lessons per week if possible. There will be (1) additional lesson set toward the end of the month to equal the (9) class schedule for the month of July.
D. What is the cost? The total cost for (9) 30-minute lessons is $182. This amount is the same fee that we charge during our regular season.

2. NEW! “IN THE VOCAL BOOTH” RECORDING SESSIONS
We are excited to offer vocal students the opportunity to record his/her favorite songs in our vocal recording studio at Forte Studios. The process is simple. You pick 5-8 songs that you would like to record. Next, we schedule your recording times. You will have a total of (9) 30-minute slots OR (4) one hour slots and (1) additional 30-minute slot to record your music. This will be equal to one quarter (9 weeks) worth of recording time.
Once your songs have all be recorded, we will mix and master them for you. Once they are mastered, we will send you MP3’s of all your songs! You can share them with as many people as you like or even add them to your playlist! You will be amazed at how professional you and your songs sound. We are excited to announce our newest addition to our theater department, Tia Vasen. Tia was a former Forte Acting, Dance and Voice student and continued her education by obtaining her theater degree from UW Madison. She will be joining Steven this fall in our evolving and growing acting department. Class Description:
Would you describe your child as energetic, creative, outgoing, and social with other kids? If so, theatre is the perfect place to explore and learn new skills all while having fun and playing! In this basics of theatre camp, actors will spend their time playing classic theatre games and doing exciting group activities that teach some of the fundamentals of theatre like projection, enunciation, and movement. Additionally, this class will help to enhance each actor’s imagination, communication, and teamwork skills! If your child has ever shown an interest in playing make believe and wants to have some fun, this is the camp for them!

4. Pre-Pointe

Requirements: Students must be enrolled in the 12:40-2:10 Summer Ballet Class and should have a minimum of one year of Ballet training. Taking this class does not guarantee that students will be ready for a pointe class in the fall regardless of their age.
Description (Pre-Pointe): Students will learn about dancing on pointe as they work on strengthening and proper techniques to prepare for pointe work. In most cases, students are not eligible to take pointe until they are in 7th grade, but 5th & 6th graders are encouraged to take this class to build strength and knowledge for when they are ready for pointe shoes. This is also a great class for any dancer who wants stronger feet, better arches, and better technique. Boys are welcome! PLEASE NOTE that taking this class does not guarantee a student will be able to enroll in a fall Pointe class, regardless of age. There are specific skill and strength levels needed for safety. Starting Pointe work before a student is ready can cause injuries that could be long lasting. Students wanting to enroll in a Fall Pointe class need teacher approval.
5. Pointe
Ages: Must CURRENTLY be enrolled in a Pointe class. This class is not for beginners.

2. NEW! “IN THE VOCAL BOOTH” RECORDING SESSIONS
We are excited to offer vocal students the opportunity to record his/her favorite songs in our vocal recording studio at Forte Studios. The process is simple. You pick 5-8 songs that you would like to record. Next, we schedule your recording times. You will have a total of (9) 30-minute slots OR (4) one hour slots and (1) additional 30-minute slot to record your music. This will be equal to one quarter (9 weeks) worth of recording time.
Once your songs have all be recorded, we will mix and master them for you. Once they are mastered, we will send you MP3’s of all your songs! You can share them with as many people as you like or even add them to your playlist! You will be amazed at how professional you and your songs sound. We are excited to announce our newest addition to our theater department, Tia Vasen. Tia was a former Forte Acting, Dance and Voice student and continued her education by obtaining her theater degree from UW Madison. She will be joining Steven this fall in our evolving and growing acting department.
