Communication/Holiday/Snow Days
1. Communication - Email is our main source of communication. Parents are responsible for being informed of upcoming events, tuition deadlines, rehearsals, etc. regardless of email status. Please let us know if your email address changes or you think you are not receiving messages!
2. Questions/Concerns – We do our best to provide the most professional, organized and friendly atmosphere possible. If you have a question or concern, please do not approach the instructor during class time or between classes. Leave a message at the front desk &/or send us an email with your concerns. Your input is very valuable to us. This gives us time to hear what you are saying and take the next step in resolving things. Often there is simply a miscommunication. If you are not satisfied with the results, the directors will be happy to arrange a time to meet or talk on the phone.
3. Withdraw – PLEASE let us know ASAP if you are withdrawing so that we can adjust our class plans and allow a new student to fill the empty space. If a student misses 2 weeks in a row with no notice, we may assume he/she is not returning. We may fill the spot with a new student. No refunds will be given.
4. Holidays – We DO NOT always follow the same holiday schedule as Mt. Horeb Schools. Please check the website “Important Dates” page for Forte’s holiday schedule.
5. Snow Policy – Forte Studios DOES NOT follow any school district closing for inclement weather. If we cancel, we will update our voicemail and website home page immediately. We will make a decision by 2:00pm if the weather is questionable.) Normal voicemail and website mean that we have not cancelled. You are always welcome to schedule a make-up class if you feel unsafe or if we do cancel. No refunds will be given for snow days.

Class & Student Expectations
1. Class Placement -- Forte Staff reserves the right to place students in the classes we feel are most appropriate for that student regardless of age. Ages, Grade levels, and skill levels are all taken into consideration when placing students. We want them to have the best experience possible. Respecting our expertise in this area is greatly appreciated.
2. Class Contracts – Many classes will be implementing age appropriate “Class Expectation Agreements”. A copy of the agreements will be posted in the studios at the start of the season.
3. Attendance – In order to have the best experience, regular attendance is a must. Classes WILL NOT be refunded or credited due to student absences or snow days. PLEASE CALL TO INFORM US OF ANY ABSENCES. We need to know that our students are safe. We often need to revise our class plans based on a student’s absence. We understand that some absences are unavoidable. Call or email to if you would like to schedule a make-up lesson.
4. Tardiness – Students are expected to be dressed and in the studio ready to go at the start of class time. Early is even better. Tardiness is disruptive to everyone involved in the class. PLEASE CALL TO INFORM US IF YOUR STUDENT WILL BE LATE. Continual tardiness may result in dismissal from class. No refund will be given.
5. Dress Code/Class Behavior – Students are expected to follow the Forte Dress Code and Class Expectations Agreements. Continuous disruptive, inappropriate or rude behavior will result in dismissal from class. No refunds will be given. No gum, candy, food, drinks other than water, or street shoes are allowed in the teaching area.
6. Parental Supervision – Students in 2nd grade and younger should have a parent present at the beginning and end of class. Students in 3rd grade and older, may wait without a parent, provided they are able to remain quiet in the halls and respectful at all times.
7. Pick Up –For safety reasons, students waiting to be picked up, should wait inside the front door.
8. Lobby Noise – The lobby needs to remain as quiet as possible while classes are in session. Private voice students and office staff are especially affected by the loud noises in the lobby.
9. No “Hanging Out” – While we love all of our students, they are not allowed to use Forte as a place to hang out! We simply do not have the space for that. If they do not have a class, then they should not be here.
